How to Clear the Dashboard in Tableau?

To clear a dashboard in Tableau and remove all the components and formatting, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open your Tableau workbook and navigate to the dashboard you want to clear.
  2. In the top menu, go to the "Dashboard" dropdown.
  3. From the dropdown menu, select "Clear" or "Clear Layout" option. The exact wording may vary depending on the version of Tableau you are using.
  4. A confirmation dialog box will appear asking if you want to clear the dashboard. Click "OK" or "Yes" to proceed.

After confirming, all the components, such as worksheets, titles, captions, text boxes, and formatting within the dashboard, will be removed. The dashboard will be left blank with a clean canvas.

Please note that this action cannot be undone, so make sure to save your workbook before clearing the dashboard. If you accidentally clear the dashboard and want to retrieve the previous layout, you can use the Undo option (Ctrl + Z or Command + Z) immediately after clearing the dashboard.
