To add a new story in Tableau, you can follow these steps:
- Open your Tableau workbook.
- In the bottom left corner of the Tableau window, click on the "New Story" button. It looks like a blank sheet of paper with a star icon.
- A new blank story will be created, and you will be taken to the story editing interface.
- To add a sheet or visualization to the story, go to the "Sheets" pane on the left side of the Tableau window.
- Drag and drop a sheet or visualization from the "Sheets" pane onto the story canvas in the center of the Tableau window. This adds the selected sheet as a slide in your story.
- To rearrange the order of slides in the story, click and drag a slide to the desired position.
- To add captions or annotations to a slide, click on the slide to select it, and then click on the "Add Caption" button at the top of the story canvas. Enter the desired text in the caption box.
Customize the appearance of the story:
- To change the layout of a slide, select the slide and click on the "Layout" button at the top of the story canvas. Choose from various layout options available.
- To apply formatting to the entire story, use the options in the "Story" dropdown menu in the top menu. You can modify fonts, colors, backgrounds, and other visual elements.
- Continue adding slides, captions, and formatting as needed to build your story.
- To preview the story, click on the "Play" button at the top of the story canvas. This allows you to view the story as a slideshow and navigate through the slides.
- Save your workbook to preserve the new story you have created.
